4th of July

On the 4th of July my family and I went tubing down the Chestatee River just north of Cumming in Dahlonegha, GA.

This area is actually a private beach for lake residents that live along the river and we are lucky to know someone who owns property along there.

We had a family of 7 and I had blown up the kids tubes so my husband got the honors of the last 2 for him and I.

This is the Dahlonegha Sholls with beautiful waterfalls and we continued down stream on our tubes.

It took us about 3 hours and was an experience! The water didn’t move very fast and lets just say we got a work out!

After our trip down the river we headed over to North Georgia College where we took our picnic dinner to eat on the lawn. We met several family friends there to enjoy a wonderful relaxing evening.

As it got dark we played games, listened to music, danced and snacked on yummy food!

I think this was the nicest weather we have ever experienced on the 4th of July…it was almost too cool!

Then as soon as it got dark the show began!

We love this Free Firework show and evening with friends that it has become a family tradition. Anyone want to join us next year is welcome!
