Real Southern Living Field Trip – Burt’s Pumpkin Patch

My Youngest Son went on a field trip to Burt’s Pumpkin Patch on Friday! It was of course raining and gloomy as it usually is around here over the last few months. Burt’s is up in the base of the mountains and is a famous pumpkin patch around here. It was even featured in the recent issue of Southern Living magazine as a place to visit in the fall.

We went on the Hay Ride with a HUGE tractor and trailer. The fall colors were gorgeous…if only the sun had been out it was the peak of fall!

We saw Giant pumpkins and we picked out 2 of those little pumpkins to bring home!

When you go to Burt’s you have to get you picture taken on the John Deere tractor!

Look how big those Pumpkins are! They are almost the size of this guy who isn’t that little anymore and those pumpkins sure weigh more than him!

It was a little chilly and wet however we enjoyed ourselves and avoided the rain. It started really raining as soon as we were about to go eat lunch so the school packed up and had lunch back at the school. I’m so glad to have spent a few hours with this cute little guy enjoying a southern fall!

  1. This is the time of year where I miss the mid-west and southern traditions. Here everything is just too expensive. Looks like you had a lot of fun!
