Rest In Peace Pepper

Pepper 001

Our family has experienced celebrating birth recently but unfortunately this past week we had our first experience with death. You might remember the cute Baby Goat Pepper who was found on the side of the road in a thunderstorm a week before our pony Champ was born. Her life was taken from us last week in a very sad accident. Not only was it hard for myself but watching my children grieving was not something I want to experience again anytime soon.

We animal lovers treat our animals like our family and even though we only knew Pepper for a short period of time she had made a big impression on all of us…we had fallen in love with her. So rather than focus on the sad accident I want to do a tribute to Pepper because she would want us to be happy!

Pepper…

Loved others and didn’t like to be alone. She made friends quickly and she treated everyone equally. She knew how to have fun. She was trusting and never afraid of others. She was kind. She loved life and didn’t ever miss out on the chance to have fun. She was a companion to an expectant Mother and together they welcomed new life in the wee hours of the morning. She learned quickly how to help with morning feeding chores and always had a friendly hello. She was an example of how precious life is and to treasure everyday as a gift. She lived a full life even if it was just for a short time.

We love you and miss you tremendously Pepper. You made a big impression on Adults, Children and Animal Friends in your short stay at the barn. The loss of your life has made us reflect on how we can do better and pay more attention to what’s around us. We have learned to be grateful for the experiences and opportunities of each day that we are given on this earth. We will remember to keep smiling even when life might not go are way:)
