Georgia Aquarium/Turner Field–5th Grade Fieldtrip

There is so much to do in Atlanta! A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to chaperone several fieldtrips all in one week! They were all in Atlanta! The 5th grade fieldtrip was a long day but we had lots of fun visiting the Georgia Aquarium, Turner Field and the Fernbank Museum Imax theater. I can’t believe school is almost out and soon I will be a Mother to 2 kids in Middle School!

The Georgia Aquarium is the largest one of its kind in the world! One of the best parts is the huge fish tank that houses Sharks, Stingrays and other very large fish! My daughter and her friend enjoyed sitting and talking while watching the fish…the picture above they were so into their conversation they didn’t notice the stingray until just a second after I shoot this and it scared them!

I learned a lot of fun facts about Turner Field where the Braves play! Did you know they mow the grass at least once every day and some times 2-3 times during the summer? They have special hybrid Bermuda grass that never turns brown even during the winter! Now I’m sure the horses and cows would love grass that grows that fast in the field!

So this cow may not be the real deal but, let’s face it the Chick-fil-A cows are the coolest cows in town!  They also represent a huge fast food market here in the South and are icons!

This is the kids in the Braves Dugout! I highly suggest a tour of the stadium when you visit Atlanta and if you go on an away game day you get to go inside the Locker Room! We were there on game day so we didn’t do that but, we did get to sit in the press box and go into a suite. The tours aren’t that expensive and probably one of the best priced tours in Atlanta!

Teaming up for Farm Chick’s Photo Friday…even if its already Monday!
