My 3 daughters all qualified to go to the GRPA State Swim Championships. Two of them competed Friday and the oldest competed on Saturday. We packed the family up and stayed 2 hours away knowing it was just too far to go back and forth.
Day 1 neither of the girls made it out of the prelims to go to Finals but they did compete well.
On Day 2 my oldest daughter swam. Her relay teams made it to the Finals and she did a great job at her individual events finishing but didn’t qualify for the finals. After Prelims there is a 2 hour break and then everyone that qualified for the finals comes back to compete. The top 8 in each event swim again to determine the winners! There is a small parade with music highlighting the teams that are competing. My younger kids were the team Mascots with the older girls who were competing.
The relay teams did Awesome! My daughter is a week shy of 13 and she swam up in the Girls 15-18 Relay teams! They placed 6th in the Medley Relay and 5th in the Freestyle Relay!
We are so happy for these girls who worked hard this Summer! Now Swim Team is finished for the Summer and we are going to try to enjoy the last 2 weeks before school starts!
